Hey everyone, here's how I rank the UOSL teams of today. I'm sure these will change over the course of the season , but enjoy...
1. Philadelphia 76ers
Player to Watch: Shaquille Cleare
Cleare, Jones, and Smith form by far the best front-court in the league. Wade is old but can still get it done. Championship favorite.
2. Utah Jazz
Player to Watch: AJ Hammons
Hammons is one of the best players in the league. Teague is another superstar at the point guard position. The Jazz could use an upgrade at PF, but their team doesn't have any other holes.
3. Boston Celtics
Player to Watch: Shabazz Muhammad
The Prophet failed the improve this offseason, but he's still arguably the best small forward in the game. The rest of the Celtics seem to be getting old fast, it will be interesting to see if this team can remain as dominant as it's been in the past. I predict they only have a slight decline in wins.
4 . Detroit Pistons
Player to Watch: Andre Drummond
The Pistons are stacked and they managed to add a star point guard in Corey Joseph. A wing player could needed down the stretch. Look for them to make some noise.
5. Houston Rockets
Player to Watch: Dwight Howard
Can the Rockets repeat? Dwight Howard still looks like superman, and Rodgers has developed into a formidable sidekick. John Wall will look to drive this team back to the finals.
6. Chicago Bulls
Player to Watch: Derrick Rose
Bulls are deep upfront with Christmas, Kanter and Austin. They also happen to have the reigning MVP... Derek Rose. Look for them to go deep into the playoffs.
7. Golden State Warriors
Player to Watch: Nicolas Batum
The Warriors have great starters and awesome depth upfront. Adding Jennings headlined their offseason, but the key player to watch is Batum. Will he continue to put up superstar like numbers or blend in as role player. Could be a difference maker.
8. Portland Trailblazers
Player to Watch: Kasey Hill
Kasey Hill is the best player in the league at the most important position in the league. This floor general will direct the Blazers to one of the better records in the league. Tjhe addition of Favors solidifies their front-court.
9. Atlanta Hawks
Player to Watch: Wayne Blackshear
Can Blackshear lead the Hawks back to the finals? Will be there full season with Carmelo Anthony on the roster. Flynn is one of the most underrated point guards in the league. Birch resigned on a more than reasonable contract, and this team is one to watch.
10. OKC Thunder
Player to Watch: Harrison Barnes
Thunder fans can breathe again, after Farmer agreed to a long-term deal to return to OKC. The Thunder will rely on the development of Bryson Scott to build on last years success.
11. New York Knicks
Player to Watch: LeBron James
The Knicks are old....real old, but they are still very talented. Lebron, Brooks and Bogut is still a great trio. This team should easily win 40 games.
12. Phoenix Suns
Player to Watch: Blake Griffin
Griffin, Oden and Rondo are getting old. Phoenix should make one more big push for the ship and see what happens.
13.Indiana Pacers
Player to Watch: Will Barton
Shelvin Mack and Will Barton is one of the nastiest one - two punches in the leage. Ibaka swats some shots up front and veterans Deng and Bynum hold their own.
14. San Antonio Spurs
Player to Watch: Kevin Durant
The Spurs are olddddd. Durant, Sullinger, and Westbrook should be enough for a playoff birth, but I don't expect a deep run in the playoffs. It might be time to tear it all apart and start over soon in San Antonio.
15. Toronto Raptors
Player to Watch: Terrance Jones
The Raptors had one of the best off-seasons in the league. They drafted Aaron and Dakari Johnson added Jones to their aresnal. After one rebuild year, the Raptors are relevant again.
16. Washington Wizards
Player to Watch: Jimmer Fredette
The Wizards snagged Jimmer Fredette in the offseason this year. Hill, Fredette, and Mayo is a great rotation of guards. An improved Chris Singleton partnered with a rotation of Bhullar, Goff, and Monroe up front could make this team surprise some people
17. Milwaukee Bucks
Player to Watch: Alessandro Gentile
The Bucks lost Jimmer, but Gentile might be able to the load. This team should fight for a lower seed.
18. Denver Nuggets
Player to Watch: Kemba Walker
The Nuggets are looking for the right offer to spark their full rebuild mode. Walker is a stud, it will be interesting to see if Marty holds onto him or not
19. LA Lakers
Player to Watch: Antonio Prince
Prince is true royalty. His ratings are pretty filthy. However, I think the Lakers will continue to dump the talent around him for draft picks and they will continue to slide down the power rankings.
20. New Jersey Nets
Player to Watch: Andrew Wiggins
Andrew Wiggins heads a very inexperienced team. They have an improved roster from last year, but I'm not sure by how much.
21. Cleveland Cavaliers
Player to Watch: Johnny O'Bryant
The Cavs are still going through a rebuilding phase. With O'Bryant locked up on a great long-term contract it will be interesting to see if he can have a breakout season. This team isn't far from being relevant in the East.
22. Orlando Magic
Player to Watch: Terrence Ross
Ross is the player to watch, because my guess is he will be packing his bags and moving onto another team. Not too much excitement in Orlando these days.
23. Dallas Mavericks
Player to Watch: Theo Pinson
The Mavericks shipped away star point guard Corey Joseph, and now are a roster full of inexperienced young players. They probably won't win a bunch of games this year, but the future looks bright.
24. Memphis Grizzlies
Player to Watch: Lucas Nogueira
Nog is the player too watch, because if he doesn't perform he could turn into a terrible contract/burden for the Grizzlies. Tommy Hamilton Jr had a slightly disappointing training camp for the Grizz. This team is still a few years away.
25. Miami Heat
Player to Watch: Brad Beal
Miami overhauled the entire roster. They moved so many players that I'm not even positive they still have Beal. If they do it puts them in a better position than the teams below.
26. Charlotte Bobcats
Player to Watch: Cole Aldrich
Cole is the only player you want to watch on the Bobcats. They don't look good now, and I unfortunately don't see anything changing anytime soon.
27. Los Angeles Clippers
Player to Watch: J. P. Tokoto
Tokoto looks like a stud, but will his ratings translate to good numbers we have yet to see. This team is really young and may experience some growing pains
28. Sacramento Kings
Player to Watch: Aaron Harrison
The Kings have a bottom of the barrel roster but Aaron shows a glimpse of hope. Hopefully Stanley Jackson continues his development and has a productive year
29. Minesota Timberwolves
Player to Watch: Chris Thomas
This roster has the least amount of talent in the league. Thomas has some great scoring ratings, and a lack of talented team-mates means he should put up some silly numbers.
