blazers r done. Roy is not the same at all this year. He never drives, it's clear his injury is having a huge effect on him. IMO He'll never be good again.

as I said...a coach, Porter could have been a solid player had he had an actual coach, rather than just the green light that was Ernie Kent, his D would have always been hindered by his size, but, he coulda been a very niceee college player had Altman coached him from the start...instead all he learned was dribble jack up a three...over and over and over again

He played the last two games as backup PG. He put up like 5 or 7 points, like 5 assists and 3 steals.

The NBA announced its intention to buy the New Orleans Hornets on Monday, an unprecedented move that brings with it a litany of questions about the organization and its franchise player, Chris Paul.

The transaction that comes after the failed sale from current owner George Shinn to minority Hornets owner Gary Chouest is subject to a vote by the league's Board of Governor's next week, and Shinn said in a statement from the league that the intention here is to keep the team down by the Bayou.

"I suggested to the Commissioner (David Stern) that the league consider the purchase of the Hornets," Shinn said. "I wanted to ensure that the team remained in New Orleans, if that was possible, and recognized that the league could provide the necessary funding while a new owner was sought in New Orleans and negotiations with the city and the state could continue."

There is an obvious hint to the unknown in his words, though, as no one knows just yet whether a would-be owner who would want to keep the team in its current locale exists. And according to a league source who told FanHouse of this news late Thursday, there is reason to believe the league is looking strongly at the possibility of moving the team to Kansas City and the Sprint Center that was built in 2007.

Yet even before that situation unfolds, there are more pressing questions to be answered regarding Paul. Namely, what does this development do for his state of mind in the wake of a summer in which it was widely believed he wanted out of New Orleans?

While the league also confirmed news that Jac Sperling -- the vice chairman of the NHL's Minnesota Wild, New Orleans native and a sports attorney with "more than 20 years of sports-industry experience," according to the release -- will head up this new operation as chairman and governor, the team will continue to be run by team president Hugh Weber and first-year general manager Dell Demps. That means, according to sources close to the team, that the hands-off approach will remain in regards to Paul and the possibility of him being traded.

But because Paul's previous concerns centered so largely on his doubts about whether Shinn was sufficiently committed to building a title-contending team, that now means there is unavoidable uncertainty once again with this most drastic of changes up top. There is an unfortunate backdrop here, too, as sources close to Paul said all along that he was enthused about Chouest taking the team over and convinced that was a step in the right direction.

Now, though, Paul -- who had spent the early-going of this season proclaiming his happiness with the improved state of affairs -- isn't entirely sure how the Hornets will be run. What is for certain, however, is this: teams will be trying to find ways to get Paul out of a Hornets jersey again. One front-office executive whose team pursued Paul over the summer offered a hearty "absolutely" when asked if this meant the Paul sweepstakes -- at least from the outside looking in -- were back on.

The Hornets still have time on their side, as Paul can't be a free agent until the summer of 2012 and thus can only force his hand so much if he does decide he wants out. But his was a situation that sprouted from the uncertainty that surrounded him, and it can't do much for his confidence to see the NBA swoop in to take matters into its own hands.

As for whether the team stays or goes, already-tough times continue to be tougher than ever in New Orleans, a reality that is continually reflected in the team's home attendance. The New Orleans Times-Picayune reported last week that the team's recurring struggle to pack New Orleans Arena might lead to its departure.

The Hornets, according to the newspaper, can opt out of their current lease agreement with the state of Louisiana that runs through 2014 if they average fewer than 14,213 fans during a 13-game stretch of home dates between Dec. 1 and Jan. 17. That challenge has not gone well thus far, as they have had crowds of 10,866 (Wednesday against Charlotte) and 14,020 (Friday against New York) since then for an average of 12,443.

If the Hornets fall short of the mark and opt to leave New Orleans, they would have to pay a $10 million exit penalty and file a relocation notice with the state by March 1, 2011. Just for added fun, the Hornets have lost six of their last eight games after getting off to an 11-1 start under first-year coach Monty Williams.

We still know these are the Hornets. Beyond that, only time will tell where and with whom they play.
