Point Guards:
Kevin Ferrell PG 5'11'' 174 21 C C- B+ B+ D A-Ferrell is the definition of a pure PG. He has no offensive skills whatsoever. His range is nonexistent past 18 feet. However, he is a superb ball handler, passer, and defensively he could be among the top 5 in steals in his rookie season. Should be an excellent pure PG type, but he will never be a threat offensively.
J-Mychal Reese PG 6'2'' 174 22 C+ B- C+ B+ C B-Reese will be the best perimeter defender in the league from day one. He has a decent outside game, though he does struggle with his midrange game. He tends to struggle with turnovers, and so might be best served by a move to SG. Scouts are worried about his ability to excel at the next level since he seems to lack a position.
Rodney Purvis PG 6'4'' 190 21 B C C B C A-Purvis is a nice inside scorer, but, like Reese he is kind of between positions. He struggles with turnovers, and passing, and therefore probably will need to be moved to SG to become anything at the next level. As a scorer he has upside, and defensively he can guard PG/SG/SF and is a pretty good rebounder for his size as well.
Marcus Paige PG 6'1'' 165 22 C B+ B- C+ D- A Paige is a pretty standard outside PG type. He isn’t going to create for himself well, but, he is a nice passer. He does struggle with his handles, and probably always will. Not going to be an outstanding statistical guy on defense, but he is a solid defender.
Shooting Guards:
Jeremy Hollowell SG 6'6'' 198 21 C+ B+ C B- C- A Hollowell is a very impressive player. He has great form on his shot, and is very good at creating for himself in part due to superb quickness. He isn’t going to wow you with athleticism, which leads scouts to some worries, but, he brings quite a polished game and should be a pretty good starter at least with a shot at an allstar game or two in the future.
Rasheed Sulaimon SG 6'4'' 180 22 B- B C- C+ C A-Sulaimon is a scorer. He can get to the hoop, or knock down the outside shot, however, he does have struggles with turnovers, and struggles to keep up with faster players…of which there will be many at the next level. This worries scouts to some degree, but, his scoring makes it easy to overlook.
Anrio Adams SG 6'2'' 173 21 B C+ C C+ D+ A-Adams is a pretty typical SG, he can score inside, but his outside shot is a bit of a work in progress. Defensively he isn’t anything amazing, he is a bit undersized, can get some steals, but can be beat. He has nice upside though his height is a bit worrisome. He cant play PG at all, poor passer, so scouts are a bit worried.
Archie Goodwin SG 6'5'' 195 22 B- C C- A- C A-Goodwin is a superb Defender, he should be able to step in and cover anybody from day one. His outside range is worrisome, but he is a smart player, and knows when to shoot (rarely). He isn’t going to show up amazingly on the stat sheet, and probably wont ever be a great scorer, but Goodwin should be a very nice player.
Small Forwards:
Jordan Adams SF 6'7'' 225 21 C+ A- C- C+ C- B-Adams is a shooter. He can knock down any outside you throw at him, but he makes his living setting up on the three point line. Defensively he struggles, he is slow on his feet, but he isn’t awful at scoring inside, not great either. Should be a very nice role player, but could be more in the right situation.
Shabazz Muhammad SF 6'7'' 220 21 B C+ C B B- A-Shabazz is the other crown jewel of this class, with a definite ability to go #1, however, he probably wont since the other possible #1 is a big man. Shabazz has a nice inside game, takes care of the ball well, and can shoot a bit, though he has an awkward form that tends to make him a streaky shooter from deep. Defensively Shabazz makes his living playing the passing lanes, and he is very good at it. He can be caught out of position though due to this, leaving his man open from time to time. Shabazz should be an excellent player.
J.P. Tokoto SF 6'7'' 200 22 B C- C C+ B- A Tokoto is an athlete. He is fast, and has excellent hops. However, he is more like a PF in his offensive game….he doesn’t have a three point shot to speak of. Defensively he is not going to rack up steals or blocks, but positionally he isn’t all that awful of a defender. He is a very nice rebounder. Does struggle some with his handles, but scouts like his upside.
Alex Murphy SF 6'9'' 200 21 C+ B- B- C+ D A-Murphy looks a lot like a 6’9” Point guard, really because he is a lot like a 6’9” Point guard…but he cant play the position. He is a good at quick passing, catching and instantly hitting the open man, but, it doesn’t always work out well. His outside game is workable, he has solid form, just needs more work to improve it. Defensively he isn’t amazing, and he is a very poor rebounder. Might be better served with a move to SG. Intriguing player with nice upside.
Power Forwards:
Brandon Ashley PF 6'10'' 230 21 B C- D- C+ C+ A-Is a pretty athletic PF. He has a solid jump shot, but his inside game is still a bit limited. He is pretty raw, and will need time to develop, but, he could become a very good player if given time.
Hanner Perea PF 6'9'' 240 22 C+ D+ D+ B+ A- B-Perea is a very ready player, and should be able to step in and play for most teams. His game is really polished, and he is an excellent athlete. However, his offense is pretty much a lost cause, which obviously has scouts worried about his overall potential. Pretty nice D, and can block shots at a decent clip.
Kyle Anderson PF 6'10'' 239 21 B- C- B- B- C+ A-Anderson is a great looking prospect outta Rutgers. He is a superb passer even at his 6’10” size, and reminds many of a young Chris Webber, though not as athletic. His D is solid, though he isn’t an outstanding statistical guy. He can block shots ok. He is a decent defender overall too, and has lots of room to grow, Definitely a top 5 pick.
Centers:
Andre Drummond C 6'11'' 275 21 B+ D+ C- B- B- A-Drummond is one of the crown jewels of this draft. He is extremely athletic, with guard like quicks and excellent leaping ability. He uses these skill very well to block shots. However, it does lead to some foul trouble, as he can be overly agressive. His offensive game is still a bit raw, but he definitely has room to grow, should be an excellent big man.
Cameron Ridley C 6'9'' 275 21 B- C D- C B A-Ridley is undersized, as evidenced by his 6’9” size, however, he is pretty impressive in spite of that. He struggles with foul trouble, but man to man he isn’t a bad defender, he is just very slow on his feet. He has a solid set of post moves, a surprisingly solid jump shot, and is quite strong. He is a dominant force on the offensive glass as well, not a shot blocker though.
Jarnell Stokes C 6'9'' 263 21 B+ D D C+ C A-Stokes has an excellent set of post moves, not especially strong, poor poor FT shooter and defense is statistically unimpressive. Also, his rebounding is underwhelming. Scouts love his potential as a scorer type big, but are unsure whether he can be much more than that.
Steven Adams C 7'0'' 235 21 C D- F+ B+ C+ A-If you draft Adams, understand that you will never get any sort of offense from him…ever. He is inept with the ball anywhere on the offensive side of the ball. However, he is a very nice defensive big type with upside to improve his defense. One of the best shot blockers in the draft.
