Lulz @ Spencer... Crawford signing is right where it should be. Werth didn't price anyone out. The contract was so ridiculous that it backfired on Crawford. People saw it as an overpay so Crawford couldn't ask for much more. Sucks as a Yanks fan though. All the pressure on Lee now. Heard he might choose as early as tomorrow or as late as the end of the meetings. If we don't get him, look for Russell Martin (who is looking likely anyways) and high risk signings like Webb, Prior, etc. Would love to see what Webb has left in the tank. Groundball pitcher in Yankee Stadium... yes please! Id be stoked if NY got none of the big names. I really didn't want Crawford. Gardner posted something like a .380 OBP last year, if not higher. Girardi has to stop sucking the dicks of the "old guard" and put Jeter in the 8-9 hole where he belongs. Gardner is a great leadoff hitter. Top 5 in OBP, top 5 in pitches seen, can beat out ground balls... Jeter doesn't do any of that. They should go... 1. Gardner 2. Swish 3. Tex 4. A-Rod 5. Cano 6. Posada 7. Martin (if they sign him) 8. Jeter 9. Granderson Maybe flip flop Granderson and Martin if Grand keeps his power stroke he started to develop at the end of last season.

It's hard to imagine anyone playing LF in Fenway better than Manny did. True.

No way in hell, I'd bat Posada higher than 7th. You are also forgetting the 8/9th spot probably will go to Montero (barring a huge trade)

lol @ paying someone 51M to be 8th. If you think they paid him that money because of his production, you're nuts. It was all about the loyalty card. Jeter on the open market doesn't make more than 7-9 mil per.

Jeter on the open market doesn't make more than 7-9 mil per. i know it wasn't due to production, but it's just stupid lol. He's been overpaid for a while.

Yeah, I was thinking Posada under 7. Probably 8th. I really wish we hadn't resigned him for as long as we did.
Martin makes sense. If we do get him, hopefully the change in scenery helps

and he still has the nerve to say he's upset with the way shit went down, stfu. Lulz. That was so annoying. Maybe if he got on base at more than a .320 clip and didn't have the worst defense of all shortstops then he could say something....

Yup. That and his reputation for being clutch is about as correct as people still calling Billups "Mr. Big Shot".
