I still like the old UOSLR IT rules. More realistic anyway. Players tend to get better in the offseason when they bulk up, work on facets of their game etc etc... also it's less likely that older players are going to be able to improve much anyway. Age caps worked too.

I think everyone is missing the point of this thread.
It isn't about the upgrade system in general, it is about is being able to potentially upgrade players, such as Durant or LBJ, who would typically already be fully upgraded, but aren't because it is a new file. I'd like some sort of restriction to prevent studs from being upgraded.

If you put a cap on the category rather than the age, I think that solves a lot of problems. For instance, you can't manually raise any player above 85/90 in any category. I've seen this work in other leagues.

I am not at all concerned with players that are good being RCd. I thought the 85 rule was automatic, and it seems it is.

im not a huge fan of giving out upgrades but i will say i think it gets activity up 3x more then what it would be if there weren't upgrades
