Nolan Hays SG 6'8'' 223 20 B B- C B- D+ B
Hays is slow, which really hurts him despite his being a SG, and limits his upside. On the plus side, he has ncie form on his shot, is pretty crafty inside and strong, and isn’t that bad of a defender. He cant rebound for shit though, which prevents him from being an effective SF. His lack of speed will probably make things for him a struggle at the next level, but other than that he is pretty solid.
Gilbert Hatfield C 7'1'' 262 21 C B D- B- B B
If you draft Hatfield, expect a headcase. Thats about the only thing that holds him back really, but he has 0 interest in improving his inside game, instead falling back on his nice outside shooting. He got thrown out of South Carolina after One year due to "undisclosed rule violations" and ended up at Temple. He surprised scouts by declaring early, but it was then learned he was failing out of school, so his options were limited. He doesnt pass well, but his midrange game is nice. His three point shot is just good enough to make him shoot it, but, not good enough that he makes it consistently. If only he could get motivated he could be a very very good player...but it isnt gonna happen so it seems.
Reynaldo Baldwin C 7'0'' 290 21 C+ D D B B B
Baldwin is strong as an ox. His massive size and strength advantage is a big help in the post, and on the glass, however, he is very slow, and struggles with his post game. He is definitely a nice player, though his potential is somewhat questionable, 3 years at Pepperdine and he never showed great shotblocking skills or much of an offensive game outside shoving his way to the hoop. He does block a bit though, if only due to his massive size. His FT shooting and overall game outside is very very poor.
Jonas Jordan SF 6'5'' 233 24 C A- C+ C+ C+ B
Jordan suffered two knee injuries at USC to his right knee, one before his freshman season, leading to a rdshirt, then another before his junior season, for which he received a sixth year of eligibility. This has hurt his athleticism a lot, he is pretty slow, and cant jump well. he gets beat off the dribble consistently, and does struggle a bit on the offensive end with his handles. He is an excellent passer, and in recovering from the injury he turned himself into a very strong player for the wing. he can handle PF potentially. His true standout though is his pinpoint accuracy from three, dont leave him open or he will burn you. At 24 his upside is limited, especially with the knee injury, but he should be a solid role player guy
Cassius Copeland PF 6'10'' 267 22 B C C B C+ C
Copeland is a very solid player. He is a decent scorer, good positional defender, thouggh he wont be getting you blocks or steals anytime soon, a solid passer, and has three point range to his shot even. He isnt especially great at anything, though he is pretty strong, but, he isnt bad at anything. After four years at Arizona though, Copeland hasnt shown himself to be much more than a nice role player/spot starter. His post moves are solid, but dont appear to have much upside, his D isnt going to show up on the stat sheet, and his rebounding is ok, but primarily on strength. Scouts just dont see him being a starter on an elite team
Douglas Hancock PF 6'10'' 255 22 C C+ C- B B B
Hancock is a very heady player. He isntt a great inside player, actually, he is very poor, but he has a stellar midrange game and decent strength. He hasnt shown off any sort of shotblocking skills, but does have a long wingspan and is a solid positional defender. He is a pretty good rebounder in general, but an especially good offensive rebounder, and while he isnt going to wow anybody but could be a very nice backup, or starter for an outside oriented team maybe.
Samson Abbott SG 6'2'' 185 21 C B B C+ D A
Abbott could easily be a sixth man type off the bench at PG and SG. While he will never be a starting PG player, as he isnt athletic enough for the position, he has nice passing skills and a good outside game. He is a solid defender, but wont create steals. nice upside. Takes the handles hit if moved to PG
Caiden Garner PG 5'10'' 160 19 C B+ C+ C D- A
Garner is quite raw, but at only 19 he could be pretty special. He isnt crafty at getting inside, but he has an amazing midrange game already, and the potential to develop into a great outside guy. He isnt much of a defender at all, and while his handles arent out of control bad, he will need some work to reign in his issues there. Still, Garner could be a very very nice PG overall.
Soren Caldwell C 6'11'' 238 22 C C C B- B- A
Caldwell is a pretty raw offensive player, and coming out of D-2 School Wingate, he really never faced the kind of competition that impressed scouts. He doesnt have a good inside game, and isnt very athletic, but,. he has a nice jump shot and a bit of 3 point range too. Positionally his D is solid, his rebounding is solid with room to grow, but he doesnt block shots. He does have quick hands, so he will be solid as a Center stealer, but he may never be a great starter if only cause he is 22 and still so raw. Probably more of a sixth man type Big
Brendon Wilson PF 7'0'' 267 23 C F D A- B B
Useless on offense is an understatement as it pertains to Wilson. He has no post game whatsoever, and teams can go into hack-a-Shaq mode if he so much as sniffs the Free Throw line. No, its definitely not the offensive side of the ball that gets Wilson his interest, but the defensive side of the ball. He is already an excellent shotblocker, and he has very quick hands, leading him to be an excellent stealer as well. He is very strong, and can hold his own in the post. His rebounding is pretty solid too, not going to be amazing, but good. For his defense he could come in and start right away easy, but he is such a black hole on offense (think worse than Ben Wallace) that it may not be a good move. Obviously his lack off offensive ability severely limits his upside. He can improve, but he will never be even close to an average offensive player.
Messiah Walker PG 6'1'' 188 21 C B- B C+ C- A
Walker is an athlete, he is quick, can jump very well, however, he hasnt turned himself into a scorer like most athletic PG's. Walker is a nice passer and solid positional defender, though he doesnt like to gamble for steals. He has a decent outside game, with room to grow. His court vision is good, and while he may struggle a bit with turnovers its definitely a part of his game that could improve with a bit of work, he is smart with the ball, but he tends to dribble a bit high, and sometimes his passes are a bit off the mark. Should be a solid starter in time
Diego Bowman SG 6'2'' 192 22 B+ C D+ C C- A
Think Allen Iverson without the passing skills and all the same attitude worries. Bowman is a spark for sure, he can get to the hoop using either his superb quickness or just plain skill. He was forced out at Florida due to "continued violations of team rules" and ended up transferring back closer to home at Montana. He is a superb scorer. His outside game is week for sure, his three point shot is very inconsistent, and he can struggle with ball control at times. Unlike Iverson he also isnt going to get steals, but, he will score...Boom or Bust guy
Abram Rogers C 6'9'' 265 20 B- C C B- B- A
Rogers is a very nice looking prospect, he is smart with the ball, has a can block shots a bit, and is a solid athlete. His rebounding is pretty average at this point, and his positional DE is a work in progress...as is his offense, but, he would seem to have a lot of room to grow. However, he has been at a small school and hasnt really shown to be dominant. His declaration caught most draft guru's off guard as it was felt around the league that he needed to spend at least another year polishing up his game and showing a more dominant overall game. However, in workouts for scouts he has impressed, leading to him shooting up draft boards, its just a question of whether he is a workout warrior or maybe he can become a great player.
Tripp Guerra SF 6'6'' 234 18 C C+ C+ B B- A
Yes, that is correct, Guerra did go to Stanford, and is just 18. Guerra was a child braniac graduating from high school early and heading off to Stanford. This is in addition to the fact that he was a very impressive basketball prospect. He is quite smart, taking care of the ball and playing nice D. He plays the passing lanes well. However, his weakness, and what scouts worry about, is that his offense is so much a work in progress. He is a superb offensive rebounder, but with the ball in his hands he just doesnt look to score at all. Still at just 18 Guerra has a lot of room for growth
Francisco Solomon C 6'10'' 265 22 B C C C+ C A
Solomon is an athlete on par with any in the league right now. He has superb strength, can jump through the roof, but, the rest of his game is so raw. He is a poor offensive rebounder, and his post game consists of overpowering players, which worked well in college, but, at the next level may be questionable...though he is still more athletic than most, the gap is much smaller. At 22 he may be too raw to develop into anything great, but...you can teach skills, athleticism is much harder to deal with.
Gauge Dean PF 6'11'' 233 20 B- C- C- B C A
Dean is a nice big man prospect, but very raw. His scoring is a work in progress, its their, he will just need time to develop it more. He is pretty strong, and positionally a very good defender, however he isnt going to block shots. His rebounding is pretty poor as well but scouts are impressed by what they have seen and like his upside
Marcus Hoover PF 6'9'' 195 19 C+ C+ B- B C+ A
Hoover is a skinny weak and slow...not a good combo, however, he has overcome that throughout his career by being a crafty post scorer, and very good defender. Yet another player that will probably be moved to the wing right off the bat..but be prepared to instantly want him back at PF...he is not a SF at all despite his ratings. He has a solid outside game, and is a nice rebounder. Also he is an excellent shotblocker, as he has excellent timing and a very long wingspan.
Deacon Boyer C 7'4'' 308 20 B- D+ D C+ C+ A
Boyer is huge and slow. He is very strong, but not athletic at all. Despite his great size he isnt a great rebounder, and he will definitely struggle with fouls throughout his career. He can block shots pretty well too. Obviously at 7'4" scouts are drooling at his size, but, is he too big? There are questions about the health of his knees.
Carlo Deleon SF 6'11'' 237 21 C+ C+ C- B C A
Deleon is a huge SF prospect. It wasnt til his senior year in high school that his height exploded, and his skills at that point were all Wing. Since his arrival at Iowa he has been a SF...he just didnt work at PF at all, despite his size..his wing habits were to ingrained. He is quite raw offensively, nothing really stands out. He is a pretty nice defender, uses his length well and can get you blocks and steals...not great, but solid. He may be a bit slow for the next level, but obviously at 6'11" his size should help him overcome that. Could be a very nice player in time
Hays is slow, which really hurts him despite his being a SG, and limits his upside.
