If someone wants a player but can't match salary and that player is expiring you can trade the rights to re-sign them in the offseason.
Thoughts?

I think it would really stimulate the trade market though. Get trades done that are hitting a wall.

I do think if you have birds for a player that goes unsigned through FA and left over FA...You should be able to sign him in season to an exp contract for trades.

We should do something with the ability to do buy-outs before we allow the trading of bird rights. Buy-outs are more realistic than trading birds.
