Tripp is a good defender, I wouldn't call him one of the best. A- rebounding at SF is nice though, I think he will be a solid player just didn't want to deal with re-signing him. And I wouldn't call it a minimal upgrade. NPL should be a stud. I don't think Jakstas has the potential.

I like this a lot for the Mavs. Kobe wants to say Tripp is a role player then what is Nate Pierre at this point? What? Nate Pierre is a rookie. Who cares if he is a role player in his rookie season? Tripp on the other hand is in his 4th season (maybe 3rd). Big difference. |

To me I am giving up a very good role player and a fringe prospect for a player who could/should have A- A- scoring next year with the TC he should have and a few camps.

Tripp is pretty sick and still only 21, he could develop into a better player than NPL will ever become. The trick is he has to be resigned, and he's a bit of a tweener
Jakstas has almost identical ratings to NPL, we'll have to find out if their potential is as close as their ratings are.
