You outright ignored it on some bitch shit and got burned because I was seriously going to offer something of value for him. Nothing amazing, yea, but I'd think a future Warriors 1st or something of that nature is a lot better than trading Williams for free.
Also, Hardesty isn't a star. Far from it. It's been a long time since you've had any players good to the point where an offer could be horrible
