Alonzo Verge Jr. PG 6'1'' 195 22 C B- B- B- C- A
Alonzo comes out of Wisconsin as a solid, but not spectacular player. He has a nice jump shot, but outside that he doesn’t show much that’s stellar. Look at everything else to be just average to start, but scouts like his ability to develop a nice game around his great jump shot.
Damon Jackson PG 6'3'' 237 22 B+ C- B- C+ C+ A
If you listen to scouts, there are rumblings that Jackson could come out of this as the number one pick. While many will be turned off by his poor outside game, Jacksons ability to get to the rim and score at the college level was unrivaled. He is very strong, and would be one of the strongest PG’s in the league right away, and his inside finishing is superb. Though he weighs 237 pounds, it is mainly muscle, as he still has the speed to keep up with PG’s, and his postional defense is pretty solid, he just doesn’t block or steal. He is a night in night out triple double threat with his superb rebounding and solid passing. He does struggle some with handles, and in such may be best served playing SG for the first few years while he develops into a better PG, however, Jackson is a marvel to watch, and should find a place to play regardless of development.
Alondes Williams PG 6'2'' 211 20 B- C+ A- B+ D+ C
Williams is a very solid PG, but he doesn’t show as much upside as the other players at the position. He is a solid defender with nice steals, can score inside, but isn’t particularly athletic. He has pretty average handling ability, and isn’t very strong, but he should be a nice player.
Donovan Reid SG 6'7'' 210 22 B- B- C A- C A
Reid is another candidate for the number one pick, and for teams looking to win sooner rather than later he should go number one for sure, heck, he maybe should go number one either way. He shows solid ability to score inside and out, takes care of the ball fine, rebounds at an above average rate, passes fine. He doesn’t show a weakness, but, even better, he shows an absolutely amazing knack for defense, shutting players down all season at Arizona. His perimeter D is unmatched, he will be able to handle any player the opponent throws at him. If there is a weakness, its that he isn’t strong enough to handle opposing SF’s, but, he is damned good.
Deion Garrity SG 6'6'' 208 20 C+ B+ C C C A
Garrity is your standard shooter at the wing position, and he shows excellent outside potential, he shows solid skills at the hoop, but may be a bit weak making it more difficult for him to create his shot., His defense is worrisome, he shows a lack of desire to cover anybody. Still Garrity should be a very good outside threat.
Max Hooper SG 6'4'' 212 21 C A- C+ C+ C B
Hooper is a shooter like Garrity, only scouts don’t feel he has the upside that Garrity does, Hooper is definitely a better passer and defender, but his inside game is lacking, and his handling ability could be a problem. He should be a pretty solid player, but you have to get working on him right away.
Terrell Brown SG 6'5'' 219 19 B C+ C+ B- C B
Brown is pretty solid already, but unlike most 19 year olds, scouts are unsure whether he will improve much more. He shows nice rebounding skills, good passing skills, and a good jump shot, but he doesn’t show too much range at three. He is an above average inside guy but not all that strong, and his quickness is sub par. Really nothing stands out about him, and that has scouts worried a bit. There is always the chance that he puts everything together right away, but he wasn’t as dominant in high school as you would expect for a potential lotto pick.
Terrance Lewis SF 6'6'' 198 22 B D C+ B+ C+ A
Lewis is an excellent prospect if you can get past his terrible outside range, he is a poor jump shooter and has no 3 point range whatsoever. He does rival Reid for best defender in the draft, but is a bit too slow to play SG (not to mention the lack of outside shooting). He is very good inside, and is nice steals, he can pass and is a very good rebounder, especially offensively. Excellent upside.
George Dixon SF 6'8'' 217 22 B B- C C+ C+ A
Dixon showed excellent basketball skills, with solid steals, good rebounding, decent inside and a nice jump shot, he does play a bit flashy and as such can commit the occasional turnover or two, Scouts do worry about the fact that he regressed some between his Junior and Senior seasons, however, he tested well at the combine, and the Maryland team struggled some this year with subpar talent, meaning he was the focus for opposing defenders.
Nojel Eastern SF 6'7'' 243 18 B- A- C C+ C B
Nojel is just 18, but shows outstanding offensive skills. He can be seen occasionally as being lazy on the court, especially on defense, standing around, and not really trying as hard as you would like, but, he is just 18, and as such hasn’t really had to work that hard to be dominant. Given time he could become a filthy scorer, and maybe the rest of his game can develop around it.
Cade McKnight SF 6'10'' 223 21 B B B D B A
Scouts don’t understand how somebody so talented could be so absolutely worthless on defense, it just doesn’t make any sense unless maybe something behind the scenes was going on with point shaving or the such. McKnight was a revolving door, showing no effort, to go along with little ability on the defensive end. He is a very excellent player all around outside of that, its just tough to figure out how his defense could be so bad.
Bernard Sullivan PF 6'9'' 250 22 B+ C- D+ C+ B- A
Bernard Sullivan is another very possible candidate for the #1 pick, he shows solid inside skills, very good post D, is an excellent defensive rebounder, and is pretty athletic. His upside is great, and scouts love him as a player in the future, though he could use some time to develop.
Issac Freeman PF 6'9'' 227 22 C+ B D+ C+ B- A
Freeman is an excellent outside shooter, he has solid inside skills and strength, and while he doesn’t show great shot blocking skills, he does show some ability. He isn’t all that athletic, but shows superb skills on the offensive glass. Its tough to say how his game will translate to the next level, but the talent is definitely there.
Seth Hinrich PF 6'11'' 265 22 B C C B- C+ A
Hinrich is also a candidate for number one overall, and no other player may be as good a scorer at this point, He has an excellent inside game, and a great midrange game. He shows some shot blocking skills, but, his rebounding isn’t stellar. He does struggle a little with his handles too, but nothing murderous, and he is a good passer.
Michael Holyfield C 6'10'' 247 22 B- C+ D+ B+ B- B
Holyfield has an impressive outside game for his size and ability inside. He is strong, and all around solid, but he really doesn’t standout in anyway, and that leads scouts to believe he has a lower ceiling than most.
Jim Marose C 7'2'' 243 22 B- D+ D+ A- C+ B
Marose is a sick shot blocker, and shows decent scoring skills. He isn’t a great rebounder, and shows a poor outside game, but damn can he block shots at an impressive rate for a rookie. He doesn’t show great athleticism though, and may not have the upside to be much more than a 13 10 and 4 player, but is that really so bad?
Jake Bennett C 6'9'' 289 22 B+ C- D+ B- C+ B
If Bennet had a better outside game he may be considered the best scorer in the draft, but he doesn’t, so he isn’t. He was dominant at UNC Greensboro, and has great strength. He is quick with the hands to, leading to steals, but he also struggles with turnovers at the other end. His post D is solid, and he is a solid rebounder, though he may use his strength too much.
