The Centers
Chance Cabrera:
Cabrera is the younger brother of former #1 pick Chace Cabrera, and he has followed in his brothers footsteps from Day 1. They went to the same high school, and Chance broke all of Chace's records, at DePaul, Chance broke the season average records that Chace set in his two seasons, and now, at the next level, Chance is looking to be the far more dominant player, capitalizing on the promise Chace never fulfilled. You may ask yourself why a prospect this good would attend all four years of college? Well, with all the criticism of his brother, he chose to go all four years so as not to make the same mistake and not come out too early, cant get too early if you have to declare. He has no weaknesses, and is the best prospect to enter the league in years, with a good inside game, solid athleticism and strength, a solid jump shot and three point range, nice handles, the ability to block shots some (though not a stud by any means), nice rebounding, nice defending, passing, etc, Chance does it all. A no doubt about it #1 stud, Chance will be a highly coveted player for years to come. As for his brother, the two share a strong rivalry; Chance does not like his older brother at all, for reasons really nobody understands fully, as Chace holds no ill will toward him. Chance though refuses to even consider the thought of playing on the same team as his brother, and will be seriously disappointed if he does. He does however love the thought of facing off against him.
Richard Large:
Large is very strong, and a great shotblocker, but, the rest of his game is very raw. He will never be a great offensive player, and while he isnt stupid with the ball, he does make the occasional mistake. His rebounding is currently based on his great strength rather than positioning, but, he shows a lot of promise, making scouts view him as a lotto guy.
The rest of the Center class is very weak, and as such, nobody is really worth notes...thats not to say there arent steals
Power Forwards
Louis Xavier:
Xavier is an athlete, who excells at blocking shots and stealing. His rebounding is a bit weak, and his offensive game is very, very, very raw, he isnt all that strong and his positional D is pretty awful. But, he shows excellent upside as a defensive style big, and maybe...just maybe...he can develop into more of a scorer.
Antonio McKnight:
McKnight is so very raw, and at 23, it worries scouts. He is pretty athletic, but, not all that strong, but, he really doesnt have much basketball skill, he doesnt score well, defend great, rebound great, cant shoot, can struggle with handles, and his Defensive skills are all around mediocre. But, he is a hard worker, and despite his lack of skill right now, he has potential, he just may be too raw.
Colby Bennett- Bennett is much the opposite of McKnight, in that while he shows a very solid all around game, Scouts are a bit worried he is done developing. He isnt all that strong, his outside game is very mediocre (he likes to shoot the three but isnt good enough really) However, he is already a very good defender, passer, and can score a little inside. He may never be a true starter, but, a great backup 3/4/5 is easily reasonable
Small Forwards
Orlando Woods:
Woods can step in and be a great role player for most teams, kinda like a Shane Battier except he does stats defending too, he has the strength and skills to cover all wings, but his size hurts his post Defense skills. He shows an ability to block and steal, neither elite by any means, but he could develop them, and he has a very nice midrange and 3 point game. Dont expect him to be a star and he wont disappoint.
Matthew Newman:
You cant teach height, and thats what makes Newman so promising. He has only been playing basketball for five years, and in that time they learned despite that height he doesnt rebound well, despite being 6'10, and that he struggles with his basketball IQ. His skills all around are very very raw, but, he is also very teachable, and with that he shows excellent potential.
Charles Baldwin:
Baldwin thrives on defense, he has very solid positional skills, and plays the passing lanes well. His shooting is a bit suspect, but, he has room to grow. His real worry is his mediocre athleticism, he has the strength to handle wings at the next level, but, does he have the quickness, thats the question mark. he is a fairly crafty inside scorer, and he takes care of the ball ok. his rebounding is a plus as well. All around a pretty solid player, but he doesnt have the upside of the other guys, still, a lotto pick.
Shooting Guards
Damon Brown:
Brown is raw everywhere, but, an excellent prospect as he has elite athleticism. He tried playing PG for a while, but it was very quickly recognized that he had severe turnover problems there. Actually, he has turnover problems at SG, but, he very well could get over them. In the meantime you may not find a better athlete than Brown. He will need time to develop into a great player, but, the opportunity is there.
Brandon Hannity:
Hannity specializes in scoring, but not much else. He has good inside skills, but, doesnt have much strength, which hurts him on the opposite end of the court. He can play a bit out of control, and is not a defender, but, his outside game shows promise, he shows good form, just struggles with his consistency. Hannity could very well be a 28 ppg guy, but the rest of his game will determine his overall value.
Antonio Duncan:
Duncan comes out as probably the most ready player right now. He shows excellent all around skills, with very nice scoring, solid shooting, fine defensive skills, great passing on the wing, and even the ability to steal a bit, and block shots. However, he struggles with quickness, and, his rebounding is poor. He isnt a great athlete at all, pretty mediocre. Scouts are worried that his potential to improve at the next level is non existent, and really, its a very legitimate worry, he doesnt have the size really, or the elite skill or athleticism to get much better. Duncan could be a very nice starter, but he probably wont be a star without a bit of Luck.
Point Guards
James McInnis:
McInnis is a pure point guard, not a guy who is going to score a ton, but he will take care of the ball, pass, defend, and rebound. A legitimate night in night out triple double threat, McInnis utilizes his elite quickness well to get rebounds and keep his man in front of him. He isnt elite at steals, but he gets them, he has excellent strength for a PG, and nice athleticism, but, he doesnt attack inside at all, instead looking to play the team game. his shooting is pretty mediocre as well, he really doesnt have much three point range and his jump shot is just iffy.
Nikolas Terrell:
Terrell is a very promising scoring style PG, in the mold of a Brandon Jennings potetnially. However, he plays absolutely no defense, you will get torched. He has solid strength, at least for a PG, he does take care of the ball pretty well and is quite fast. He can score a bit inside, but, he is also EXTREMELY undersized, its almost ridiculous at 5'9 138, which makes his strength all the more impressive. He does steal the ball some. He should be a very nice Point in the future.
Israel Aguilar:
Israel is at least two years away from even contributing to a team, but, with his potential, and at just 17, nobody would be surprised if he went lotto. He doesnt really have anything that stands out, outside the fact that he will be hands down the fastest player in the league. He has a decent jump shot too, but really, Israel is all about time...he needs a lot of it, but could be a special player.
Jonathan McConnell:
McConnell is an excellent shooter, solid ball handler, with nice passing, and an amazing jumper, but he doesnt play inside, and he doesnt defend. He should be a nice backup PG/SG, and maybe a nice starter but, his upside is limited by his completely inept inside game...
